For more information on content management, what it is and how your can use it to edit your website please visit our website: Net Fusion Content Management

  1. Content
    • Make sure that your content is relative to the page, the content should reflect the page name and what you are trying to get across.  If you have to much information on the page, consider moving some of it to a new page or trimming the content.
    • No-body likes reading lengthy paragraphs, keep your visitors on your site with engaging content and CTA (Call to Action) links to take them further through your website.
    • Consider breaking up long paragraphs of text with images, to emphasise the topic and make the content more interesting.
  2. Layout
    • Try to be a little more creative and use layouts that your visitors will be more likely to enjoy reading.  They don't want to feel like they're reading a book, try side by side content, align your images next to your paragraphs or use column based layouts.
    • Maybe try surrounding some of your content in a box with a light background colour to bring it out from the rest of the content.
    • Try to use similar layouts through your website, to many different layouts can become confusing and your visitors wont know where to look.
  3. Colour
    • Always stick with the colour scheme of your website.
    • Don't use too many different colours
    • Don't use colours that are too harsh or contrast too heavily with your website
    • Don't be tempted to highlight your text with lots of different colours, if something is important, trying making it bold, underline it, or make the font slightly larger.
    • If you place text on a background colour, make sure the font colour is one that stands of from the colour behind, consider people who may be colour blind or have impaired vision.
  4. Fonts and Formatting
    • Always stick with the same font your website uses for plain text.
    • never use more than 2 fonts, and if you do use similar styles fonts.
    • Make use of your heading tags e.g. h1,h2,h3 for titles and headings, these reflect the importance of the content and can help with your search engine rankings.
